Zakynthos has a long tradition in music. Since the 17th century operas that came mainly from Italy and intended to give their performances in different parts of the world gave their first performance in Zakynthos and if they had good reviews they could continue their performances in other countries.

Zakynthos is the island that both the city and the villages have maintained the buildings of traditional Ionian architecture, thus giving a greater harmony in space, and interest people who are dealing with the traditional architecture and particularly the different style of countryside.
